Fire Classification
Fire class A: Fire involving common combustibles such as wood, paper, plastics, clothes etc.
Fire class B: Fire involving flammable liquids and gases, such as gasoline, propane and solvents.
Fire class C: Fire involving live electrical equipment such as computer, fax machine etc.
Fire class D: Fire involving combustible metals such as magnesium, lithium, aluminum, steel etc.
Fire class K: Fire involving cooking media such as cooking oils and fats.
Types of Fire Extinguisher
Four (04) Types of Fire Extinguisher has given below

Fighting The Fire
- Pull the Pin.
- Remove the Nozzle from the Clip.
- Hold the Nozzle with your strong hand.
- Carry the Extinguisher with your opposite hand.
- Squeeze the Handle gently to test the Extinguisher.
Procedure for Monthly Fire Extinguisher Inspection
□ Nothing blocking access to extinguisher
□ The pressure gauge shows fully charged
□ Horn/Nozzle is free of cracks, tears or obstructions
□ Pin and Tamper seal are intact
□ Handle/Level is undamaged
□ No dents, leaks, rust, chemical deposits and other signs of abuse or wear
□ Dry powder chemical is moving freely within cylinder
□ Inspection tag is attached and updated.
Fire Extinguisher Annual Maintenance Check
- Utilize a 3rd party for Annual maintenance check.
- Testing must be performed by someone with suitable testing and equipment facilities.
- Retain certification record for all testing.
How Do You Take Care Of and Maintain a Fire Extinguisher?
- Must maintain in a full charge and operable condition.
- Must detain their selected places at all times except throughout use.
- Must conduct an annual maintenance check.
- Must record the annual maintenance date and retain this record for 1year after the last entry or the life of the shell, whichever is a smaller amount.
- The Extinguisher is not blocked by equipment, coats or their objects.
- The pressure is at the recommended level.
- The nozzle or their parts are not obstructed.
- The safety pin, latch or lock are intact.
- There are not dents, leaks, rust, chemical deposits or other signs of abuser wear.
- The dry chemical extinguisher does not cake or settle. Some manufacturers recommended these be shaken periodically.
- The cartridges the gas cartridge extinguisher be punctured.
- The fire extinguisher should be pressure tested (a process called hydro-testing) after a number of years to ensure that the container is safe to use.
- If an extinguisher is broken or wants to recharge, it’s to be noted, promptly reportable and replaced. It’s advisable to recharge all extinguishers right away when use in spite of what proportion was used.

What Is Drencher Fire Control System?
