  • Ensure that the cartridges and the gas cartridge extinguisher are not punctured.
  • The fire extinguisher should be pressure tested (a process called hydro-testing) after several years to ensure that the container is safe to use.
  • If an extinguisher is broken or needs to be recharged, it’s to be noted, promptly reported, and replaced. It’s advisable to recharge all extinguishers immediately, despite what proportion was used.
